Projects

Niche expansion & transplantation

Transplantation of oysters across environmental gradients shortly after settlement can bypass their existing population bottlenecks. Manuscript soon to be submitted to Ecology.

Shellfish relay

Assessed ecological impacts of shellfish relay, a small-scale harvest practice. Manuscript soon to be submitted to Marine Ecology Progress Series.

Denitrification on oyster farms

Measured spatiotemporal variability of denitrification associated with oyster farms, including their gear type and position within estuaries. Manuscript soon to be submitted to Estuaries and Coasts.

Cross-habitat facilitation

Interested in whether neighboring seagrass meadows might reduce pathogen loads on oyster farms. Estuaries appear to be too dynamic for this service to be reliably delivered.
